Hydrostatic Pressure Experiment Set

The hydrostatic pressure is important in hydraulics engineering. The weight of fluids or their gravitational force generates this pressure. The different water levels and angles of inclination determine the magnitude of the pressure. The experiment set has a water tank which can be tilted. There are two scales on the tank showing the volume and the inclination of the fluid. The device is balanced by a lever arm. It contains different weights and the force is so measured. The set has a drainage valve.

The students can make with this experiment set:

  • Pressure distribution along an effective area in a liquid at rest,
  • Lateral force of the hydrostatic pressure,
  • Determination of the centre of pressure and centre of area and
  • Determination of the resulting compressive force experiments.
